Draftsperson – Plastic Mould Design

A Draftsperson – Plastic Mould Design performs some or all of the following duties:

  • Develops and prepares engineering designs and drawings
  • Operates computer-aided design and graphics drafting stations
  • Develops and prepares design sketches
  • Completes documentation packages and produces drawing sets
  • Checks and verifies design drawings
  • Writes technical reports
  • Checks prepared contracts and tender documents
  • Designs and produces simple to complex templates and patterns
  • Designs mechanical equipment for mould manufacturing
  • Designs plastic moulds and tooling for mould-making and modifications
  • Designs components parts and attachments

  • Checks and verifies design drawings
  • Writes technical reports
  • Checks prepared contracts and tender documents
  • Designs and produces simple to complex templates and patterns
  • Designs mechanical equipment for tool and die manufacturing
  • Designs tooling for tooling, dies, and modifications
  • Designs components parts and attachments

Drywall Finisher and Plasterer

A Drywall Finisher and Plasterer tapes and finishes wallboard (drywall), applies, maintains and restores plaster and similar materials on interior and exterior walls, ceilings and building partitions to make them more decorative, soundproof and firerated. A Drywall Finisher and Plasterer also textures concrete, applies coats of plaster to foundation materials, and installs, repairs and restores mouldings and ornaments. Specifically, a Drywall Finisher and Plasterer:

  • tapes and finish wallboard (drywall)
  • applies tape to fire rate and gas proof walls
  • installs beads to protect corners
  • fills joints and imperfections
  • mixes and applies compound and sands to create a smooth surface
  • textures concrete, prepared walls and ceilings
  • applies coats of plaster to foundation materials
  • wires mesh and installs ornaments

Drywall, Acoustic and Lathing Applicator

A Drywall, Acoustic and Lathing Applicator erects exterior structural steel studs and sheathing, shaft wall systems, installs and finishes lath and drywall, partition walls and furring, ceiling systems and access flooring types as well as applies thermal and sound insulation. Specifically, a Drywall, Acoustic and Lathing Applicator:

  • reads, interprets, and applies blueprints and specifications for job layout
  • erects exterior structural steels studs and sheathing
  • erects light gauge residential steel studs, sheathing and demountable partitions
  • applies thermal insulation, sound insulation, and fire stopping
  • installs partition walls and furring and shaft wall systems
  • installs lath, drywall, moulded and cast forms and ceiling systems

Educational Assistant

An Educational Assistant supports educators in working with students, including those with exceptional education needs to implement education, safety and behaviour support plans. Electric Motor System Technician

An Electric Motor System Technician performs some or all of the following:

  • Disassembles, diagnoses, rewinds, repairs, tests, and reassembles components of electric motors, transformers, switchgears, and generators.

Electrician (Signal Maintenance)

An Electrician (signal maintenance):

  • Repairs and operates mechanical, electrical, electronic and computerized signal and train control equipment of transit systems

Electronic Service Technician

An electronic Service Technician:

  • Interacts with customers and other workers
  • Uses hand tools, hand power tools, testing equipment and specialty tools
  • Applies electronic theory to electronic products
  • Terminates and connects conductors and printed circuit boards contained within electronic products
  • Maintains electronic products
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems in electronic products
  • Services and repairs electronic products

Elevating Devices Mechanic

An Elevating Devices Mechanic constructs, installs, services and maintains elevating devices including elevators, lifts and escalators. Specifically, an Elevating Devices Mechanic:

  • inspects, services and maintains existing elevating devices
  • installs new elevating devices
  • rigs and hoists elevating devices
  • installs and maintains control equipment
  • installs and maintains protective devices

Entertainment Industry Power Technician

An Entertainment Industry Power Technician works in film, television, live performance, trade shows, special event productions and carnivals by doing the following:

  • Evaluating job requirements
  • Planning, building, installing, maintaining and disassembling power distribution systems, including both main and subdistribution systems
  • Designing and installing temporary distribution systems
  • Installing, controlling and disassembling lighting
  • Managing portable power supplies including maintenance of batteries
