Mould Designer

A Mould Designer is able to design all types of moulds by:

  • Demonstrating safe working practices and techniques
  • Reading and interpreting a piece-part drawing
  • Analyzing piece part for mouldability/manufacturability
  • Conveying information to CAD program/system
  • Determining the type of mould
  • Designing layout of mould components/parts
  • Designing sequencing of multi-plate openings
  • Creating a mould/tooling design
  • Detailing and dimensioning the mould/tooling design
  • Finalizing the mould drawing/design
  • Implementing construction of the mould
  • Archiving/maintaining files

Saw Filer/Fitter

A Saw Filer/Fitter:

  • Maintains wood sawing machines in lumber or paper mills
  • Files grooved, contoured and irregular surfaces of knives, saw blades and metal objects
  • Repairs, sets and sharpens bandsaws, chainsaws, handsaws, circular saws and other types of saw blades
  • Troubleshoots sawing machinery and analyzing faults for corrective or repair action

Surface Blaster

A Surface Blaster:

  • Assesses the pre-blast area and site, controls the blast area, designs and implements the blast, loads blast holes, hooks up and initiates shot and assesses blast results

Surface Mount Assembler

A Surface Mount Assembler may perform some of all of the following:

  • Solder and manually bond or assemble various electronic components such as transistors, diodes, capacitors, integrated circuits, wires and other electronic parts
  • Install mount, fasten, align and adjust parts, components, to subassemblies and assemblies
  • Set-up, operate and monitor automatic and semi-automatic machines to position, solder/bond and clean prescribed components on printed circuit boards
  • Operate and monitor process equipment including automatic and semi-automatic machines to fabricate electronic components, solder, clean, seal and stamp components and perform other process operations as specified
  • Set-up process equipment and adhere to clean room procedures as required
  • Inspect electronic components and assemblies to ensure correct component selection and placement, wiring and soldering quality, location, breaks in circuitry and line spacing in printed circuit boards and other specified requirements while products are being assembled or fabricated.

Thin Film Technician

A Thin Film Technician works with:

  • Sperhical precision optics
  • Syncro-speed precision optics
  • Plano precision optics
  • Thin film operation

Tool and Cutter Grinder

A Tool and Cutter Grinder performs some of the following:

  • Sets up and operates grinder machines such as surface, cylindrical, pedestal, and tool or cutter grinders to shape or sharpen precision cutting tools and cutters.

Tool and Die Maker

A Tool and Die Maker designs, creates, repairs and tests prototypes and production tools such as dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges and specialty tools using various metals, alloys and plastics. Specifically, a Tool and Die Maker:

  • reads and interprets complex engineering drawings, tooling drawings and work-process documentation
  • designs, builds, changes and repairs dies, forms, cutting tools, gauges, jigs and fixtures for the manufacturing sector
  • builds precision dies, tools and prototypes using conventional and numerically controlled metal-cutting and forming machines and equipment including saws, drills, grinders, lathes, mills, die presses and electrical discharge machines
  • performs work-in-process measuring and checking using specialized and precision tools and equipment
